Biffy Clyro at Fat Sams

21/10/25

Went to Dundee on the bus with my wife and my mother.
The puppy stayed at nana's house.
We got tickets for a set of Biffy Clyro's new album
at Fat Sams, Dundee's premier music venue.

On the bus, this little autistic girl was chatting away at her dad.

From "overhearing" their conversation (It wasn't possible to tune her out)
it became clear that this was the first time that
she was going to visit him at his house in many years.

It also became clear that he wasn't fucking listening.
She kept spewing red flags all over him and he would just respond with
variations on "oh yeah?" and "is that right?".
It was depressingly reminiscent of conversations with my own father.
Hopefully she gets taken seriously one day.

Anyway.
We arrived in Dundee,
Bitched about this guy and his understandably loud kid for a minute,
then set about our business of locating an eatery.

On our first attemot we got lost,
and walked up and down the wrong street a few times,
then we stopped into an off-license and bought some postcards for my most recent
special interest: Postcrossing

a good while later we finally found our original goal.
The Promised Land.
Realm of cheap drinks and cheaper food,
Wetherspoons

Gig was okay, it was an acoustic set of their new album
I think I would have liked it better if it was amplified.
